Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
The App is provided by QED Corporation Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].
This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is processed and stored, and your choices. It covers the App only — not Atlassian’s own products, which are governed by the Atlassian Privacy Policy.
2. Data the App accesses
The App is granted a single, read-only Jira scope, read:jira-work. Using it, the App reads the structural fields of the issues in the projects where it is used, in order to infer and display a hierarchy. These include:
- issue keys and summaries;
- status and status category;
- labels, components, and issue type;
- assignee and priority.
The App does not read or store issue descriptions, comments, attachments, worklogs, or any custom fields beyond those listed above.
3. How the App uses data
The data is used for one purpose: to organise your backlog into a navigable, hierarchical view. Specifically, the App:
- applies deterministic rules to group issues by their existing structure;
- uses Atlassian-hosted large language models (the Atlassian Forge LLM service) to infer thematic grouping for the issues that rules cannot place;
- stores the resulting hierarchy and the structural fields above so the view can be rendered.
We do not use your data to train any model, for advertising, or for any purpose other than providing the App’s functionality.
4. Where data is processed and stored
The App is a Forge app and “Runs on Atlassian.” All processing and storage happen within Atlassian’s cloud infrastructure:
- Processing. Inference runs on Atlassian-hosted models. No data is sent to any external model provider or third-party API.
- Storage. The App’s data is held in Forge’s hosted storage (Forge SQL), operated by Atlassian and subject to Atlassian’s data-residency controls.
Because the App transmits no data outside Atlassian, there is no third-party egress and no external sub-processor beyond Atlassian itself.
5. Data we never receive
We, as the vendor, do not operate any external server for the App and do not receive a copy of your Jira data. The App collects no analytics or tracking data about your use of it, and sets no cookies.
6. The App never writes to Jira
The App holds no write scope. It cannot create, edit, move, or delete issues, links, or hierarchy in Jira. All structure produced by the App exists only within the App’s own storage.
7. Data retention and deletion
The App retains the structural data and computed hierarchy for as long as it is installed, so the view remains available. When you uninstall the App, Atlassian removes the App’s hosted storage for your site in line with Forge’s data-lifecycle handling. You may also request deletion at any time by contacting [email protected].
8. Your rights
Depending on your location (for example under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to or restrict its processing. Because the App stores only limited structural fields within your own Atlassian instance, most of these are exercised directly through Jira and through uninstalling the App. For anything else, contact [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable period.
9. Children
The App is a workplace tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the App or the law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, through the Marketplace listing.
